Role Overview

The Mission

Skyhigh Security is looking for a performance-focused engineer who works at the intersection of networking, security, and high-scale systems. You won’t just be running tests – you will be breaking things, finding bottlenecks in complex enterprise environments, and helping ensure our security solutions remain lightning-fast under heavy load.

Ideal candidate should have

Technical skills

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on engineering in software testing, specifically performance measurement and systems capacity testing (Cloud / Hybrid / On-Premise).
Linux systems fluency: Very good understanding of Linux operating systems and bottleneck identification (CPU, RAM, I/O, etc.).
Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in a performance context.
Network Depth: Solid grasp of TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTP/2, TLS, SSL, DNS, and Web Proxies.
Tools: tcpdump and network traces analysis familiarity.
Coding: Strong Python skills; familiarity with C/C++ is a plus given our focus on performance.
AI Augmentation: Ability to leverage AI for faster troubleshooting while remaining critical of its output.

Non-technical skills

Communication: Fluent English required (German a plus). Strong communicator, team player, capable of independent deep-dive tasks.
Cultural Fit: Open-minded and comfortable in a multicultural environment.
Perseverance: You don’t stop until you find the root cause.
Ability to think out-of-the-box.

Day-to-day activities

Explore limits by building and simulating complex high-load scenarios to identify bottlenecks and where systems might bend or break.
Collaborate with development teams during early stages of development.
Stay alert with monitoring, tuning, developing and maintaining performance tests in internal test labs/environments.
Build tooling: Maintain and expand Python-based regression frameworks and performance toolchains.
Analyze and verify product quality.
