PHP Software Engineer - Back End (all genders)

Responsibilities

• Join in the backend development of the finance, shipment and user domains of Cardmarket
  • Design and implement new modules and features
  • Maintain and improve existing modules and features
• Contribute to improving team processes through retrospectives

Your profile

General:

• Business level English skills are necessary
• Drive to improve yourself, our codebase and our team
• Presence in Berlin is required

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development
• 2+ years in php (recent)
• Working with relational databases (MariaDB/MySQL)
• Working with and refactoring legacy code
• Working with event-based architectures
• Building projections
• Investigating and fixing reported bug

Experience in any of these is a plus:

• Domain-driven design
• Microservices architecture
• Golang
• Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform

Writing & Designing code

• Understanding of time & space complexity of algorithms
• Applying SOLID principles, Clean Code, Design Patterns
• Taking ownership in testing your code via automated and manual tests
• Managing concurrent access to shared resources

Teamwork

• Ensuring the success of the sprint and all scrum events
• Analyzing and breaking down business requirements into work items that can be taken by other team members as well as documenting design decisions
• Proactively helping your team members
• Giving feedback and improvement suggestions in code reviews
