Job Overview

You will be responsible for ensuring the physical safety and security of SAP employees, buildings, and assets through the implementation and compliance with Global Physical Security Standards and Procedures, within Germany with a focus on locations in the south of the country and one of the campus locations in the south.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall operational responsibility for security operations and related OPEX and CAPEX spend management
  • Conduct physical building security risk assessments, surveys, and physical penetration testing
  • Execute the planning, design, bid, construction and commissioning activities for multiple concurrent projects, and oversee all aspects of physical security related to these projects
  • Working toward alignment to SAP Global Physical Security Standards
  • Partner/support SAP Health and Safety programs and ensure emergency responses are established
  • Report on physical security strategy and metrics (KPIs)
  • Maintain close relationship with law enforcement and emergency responders
  • Proactively contribute to developing the team capabilities across the region, through initiatives, working groups and knowledge sharing
  • Work as directed by manager

Competencies and Skills

  • Intermediate Business Acumen: Ability to comprehend and manage financial aspects (develop business cases (cost/benefit))
  • Strong Process Evaluation: Provide ongoing evaluation of processes and programs to ensure compliance with best practices and internal standards
  • Strong Customer Relations and Leadership Skills: Ability to manage a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including executives and senior management
  • Comprehensive Communication Skills: Strong German and English writing, speaking, and comprehension skills; ability to interpret analytical and technical data
  • Intermediate Project/Program Management: Understand, implement, and report on project or program planning, design, bid, construction, and commissioning of materials and services
  • Strong Physical Security Industry Knowledge: Full understanding of physical security product (manufacturer vs. distributor vs. integrator) and services market
  • Compliance & Audit experience: Subject related audit and compliance experience in an operational security setting that is aligned to the operating environment of SAP

Experience, Education and Certifications

  • 5 years experience in physical security industry or equivalent including management experience (military, law enforcement, etc.)
  • Associate’s degree in related field or evidence of continuous professional development
  • Ability to pass German government security clearance
  • Experience with Siemens SiPort, C‑cure 2000 and Genetec security systems
