Cloover is financing thousands of renewable energy installations across Germany and Austria. As a Portfolio Management Intern on our Finance team, you will work directly on the models, assessments, and analyses that sit at the core of our lending operation, delivering results that inform senior management and external investors from day one.

Responsibilities

Underwriting & Risk Modelling

• Own end‑to‑end credit assessments of customer applications, using internal scoring models and external data sources to develop defensible, well‑documented views.
• Build and refine risk models that evaluate portfolio performance, default probability, and financial outcomes across scenarios, and continuously improve them.
• Run stress tests and sensitivity analyses that directly inform investment and risk management decisions.

Portfolio Management

• Monitor the financing portfolio for exposure, delinquency patterns, refinancing, and hedging, identifying signals before they become problems.
• Drive automation of underwriting and credit monitoring workflows, shipping tools the team relies on.

Financial & Strategic Support

• Prepare investor and lender reports with precision and clarity so external stakeholders can act on them.
• Contribute to the structuring of debt facilities and forward flow agreements.

Qualifications

• Strong academic track record in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
• Experience building and stress‑testing financial models, comfortable with complex datasets and risk frameworks.
• Ability to think fast under pressure, delivering accurate work at speed and flagging uncertainty when needed.
• Ownership of analytical outputs: detect and correct model errors proactively.
• Excellent communication skills in English, able to convey findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Motivated by the energy transition, understanding its importance and context.
• Based in Berlin and thrives in an office‑first environment, collaborating in real time with the founding team.

Nice to have (but not required)

• German language proficiency (B2 or above)
• Prior exposure to consumer credit, structured finance, or energy project finance
