We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in speech analysis and natural language processing, coupled with a genuine passion for translating advanced analytics into real‑world impact. The successful candidate will develop and validate advanced AI/ML solutions to address complex problems across a range of therapeutic areas, contributing to data‑driven decision‑making and scientific advancement within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceive, develop and validate AI/ML solutions for high-priority scientific research initiatives.
- Analyse and interpret complex multimodal datasets, including speech, text, and actigraphy data from diverse sources.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional internal teams and external partners to address research objectives.
- Clearly communicate the state‑of‑the‑art methods and results to diverse audiences and partners to support informed decision‑making.
- Disseminate research findings through publications in leading peer‑reviewed journals and top‑tier conferences.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in AI/ML or a closely related field (e.g., computational linguistics, computational biology, computational neuroscience, computer science, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, electrical engineering, or signal processing), obtained within the last 2 years or expected to be completed within the next 3 months.
- Proven track record of applying advanced AI/ML techniques, supported by publications in peer‑reviewed journals and/or top‑tier conferences.
- Experience with classical analytical methods (e.g., logistic regression, support vector machines, random forest, boosting and ensemble methods), as well as modern AI approaches (e.g., convolutional and recurrent neural networks, attention models, transformers).
- Hands‑on experience with foundational and advanced NLP and speech technologies (e.g., word2vec, wav2vec, Whisper, BERT, GPT, praat, parselmouth, librosa, pyannote).
- Solid understanding of statistical methods.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python).
- Experience with software development best practices and tools (e.g., Git).
- Strong analytical mindset and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new concepts, methods and technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical work to diverse audiences in both oral and written formats.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong motivation and passion for leveraging data and AI/ML to drive scientific innovation.
