Practice Manager, AWS Security Assurance Services

Overview

The AWS Security Assurance Services (SAS) team is part of Amazon Web Services. We build scalable security solutions for internal and external customers, focusing on reliable security outcomes and automation for the cloud. The role is a customer‑facing Practice Manager who leads a team to help enterprise customers migrate workloads, address security, governance, risk, and compliance requirements, and support Amazon’s business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead teams that deliver governance, risk, compliance, and security objectives.
  • Define security, compliance and risk management approaches to help customers move sensitive workloads to the cloud.
  • Engage in deep‑dive discussions, provide strategic presentations and recommendations, and demo automation of compliance in the AWS environment.
  • Convey partner and customer feedback to AWS engineering and road‑mapping teams.
  • Build long‑lasting customer relationships with strategic stakeholders, supporting business development and customer success efforts.
  • Travel to customer sites as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure‑as‑a‑service (IaaS) cloud computing transition challenges.
  • Experience in IT consulting/management with IT Transformation in a customer‑facing role.
  • Experience in program or engagement management, leading other project managers to deliver programs with multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience in enterprise architecture including virtualization technologies and distributed architecture.
  • Experience managing and delivering large‑scale enterprise IT projects.
  • 10+ years of IT consulting/management with IT Transformation in customer‑facing roles.
  • 3+ years of program or engagement management work leading other project managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of enterprise IT management frameworks such as COBIT or ITIL.
  • Experience integrating AWS cloud services with on‑premise technologies (Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP).
  • Experience with customer relationship management, especially C‑suite level engagement.
  • Experience designing modern, scalable delivery models for technology consulting services.
