Principal Scientist – In vivo Pharmacology

Become part of an interdisciplinary team in an international environment and use state‑of‑the‑art technologies to discover new active substances and gain a deep understanding of their mechanisms of action. The position can be performed in a hybrid working model with approximately four days per week on site.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Assume professional and disciplinary leadership of a technical team to ensure efficient and high‑quality execution of preclinical studies.
• Lead cross‑functional project teams for the development and implementation of innovative strategies in the field of immunology and respiratory diseases.
• Act as In‑Vivo Lead in cross‑functional project teams, closely coordinating with internal partners and being responsible for the development and implementation of the in‑vivo pharmacology strategy to successfully transfer new therapeutic concepts from preclinical to clinical phases.
• Develop and implement translational in‑vivo strategies to successfully advance preclinical projects into clinical development.
• Be scientifically responsible for planning, conducting, and evaluating complex in‑vivo studies, including interpretation of pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic data.
• Work closely with internal and external partners to ensure scientific excellence.
• Represent Immunology & Respiratory in internal initiatives and working groups, collaborating with colleagues from other departments.
• Act with a high degree of personal responsibility, serve as a recognized expert both internally and externally, and advise other scientists and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Doctorate (PhD) in Biology, Pharmacology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Profound knowledge in in‑vivo pharmacology.
• Several years of experience leading technical staff.
• Initial experience as a project leader in preclinical research is an advantage.
• Experience working within a matrix organization.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively both internally and externally.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); intermediate German knowledge.
