We are seeking a highly experienced and collaborative Principal Test Engineer to lead the testing process for applications at Veracyte that directly help our company expand and develop new diagnostic solutions to improve patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs.
The Principal Test Engineer is a senior, hands‑on quality leader responsible for defining, executing, and continuously improving the software testing strategy within Veracyte’s regulated environment. This role ensures that all software products meet applicable quality, safety, and compliance requirements while supporting efficient delivery processes. The Principal Test Engineer acts as a subject‑matter expert in verification and validation (V&V), test automation, risk‑based testing, and regulatory compliance, providing technical guidance to junior testers and collaborating closely with engineering, product, and quality functions.

For candidates based in our San Diego office , the salary (or hourly range) is $157,200 - $173,600
For candidates based in our South San Francisco office , the salary or hourly range is $179,000 - $200,000
For candidates working remote (US) , the salary or hourly range is $150,200 - $174,400
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
