Principal/Expert Engineer in functional Safety in Active Safety Systems

Huawei Ohm Research Center (Nuremberg) is responsible for Network Energy Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.

Huawei Automotive Electric Control Technology Laboratory will play an important role in the Huawei Digital Power Business Unit in the advanced electric drive control, architectural development, design and strategic engineering of automotive applications such as drivetrain, DC-AC inverter and fusion driving component, advanced AI/cloud technology, etc. As an employee you will be part of the HUAWEI Automotive R&D Competence Center in Nuremberg.

Join us as a Principal/Expert Engineer - Functional Safety in Active Safety Systems (m/f/d)

Your mission

• Responsible for the independent functional safety development for the intelligent chassis system in concept phase and system level including ID/HARA/FSC/TSC/TSR/FMEA/FTA/DFA.
• Responsible for definition for functional safety variation strategy for the intelligent chassis system
• Responsible for definition for the failure diagnosis strategy and safe state strategy in the system level and software level
• Participate in the hardware and software design of the functional safety of the intelligent chassis, and the review of the hardware, software design and test specification
• Responsible for the ability-and-knowledge-based construction of functional safety requirement collection, analysis and management and writing system requirements specifications
• Responsible for building up system function modeling and simulation for HARA
• Sort out functional safety test scenarios and test cases, formulate system function verification and system integration test specifications, subsystem test plan, and assist with the testing
• Provide technical support to the development process and DV/PV, as well as mass production and after-sales service
• Responsible for the research of state of art functional safety strategy for the intelligent chassis and keep technical leading position of functional safety solution.

Your areas of expertise

• You hold either a Bachelor or Master degree in one of the following fields: vehicle engineering, mechanical and electronic engineering, automation, electrical and electronic engineering or any other related field
• Profound experience in the functional safety development of braking systems or chassis electronics. Experience in ESP/ IBooster/IBP/EMB functional safety design experience in system level and software level is required. Experience in functional safety development of ABS/TCS/ESC is required.
• Experience with the failure monitoring and diagnosis strategy of the braking systems for the functional safety related part.
• Experience with the tools CANape/Analyzer and Matlab/Simulink/CarMaker/CarSim. Experience with CarMaker is preferred
• Familiar with HARA, FMEA,FTA and other failure analysis method
• Familiar with the automotive functional safety standards such as ISO 26262
• Fluent in written and spoken English, working language
