Process Manager (m/f/d) - MMC Connectorization & Fiber Operations

Role Purpose

Own fiber and MMC connectorization manufacturing processes end to end, from NPI through high‑volume manufacturing, ensuring robust yield, scalable automation, and secure, high‑quality fiber supply.

Responsibilities

  1. Process Ownership & Manufacturing Strategy
    • Own end to end process for MMC connectorization and fiber operations from NPI to HVM (High Volume Manufacturing)
    • Collaborate with OCS DE and HSDC team to take advantage of global scale
    • Define and own fiber handling, routing, protection, fiber rotation and polarity management standards
    • Own connectorization performance, yield, repeatability, and damage prevention
    • Interface with Fiber Engineering to align process capability with fiber and connector design specifications
    • Define the process scalability roadmap covering volume, cost, and multisite deployment
  2. Automation Architecture & Deployment
    • Define end‑to‑end automation concepts for fiber handling, routing, connectorization, polarity verification, inspection, and test
    • Interface with equipment suppliers and automation integrators to deploy solutions that minimize manual handling, reduce damage risk, and support high‑volume manufacturing
    • Ensure automation solutions are scalable, cost‑effective, and deployable across contract manufacturing partners
    • Own the automation roadmap and deployment timing aligned with NPI and ramp plans
  3. NPI Readiness & Transfer to Manufacturing
    • Own fiber and connectorization manufacturing readiness through Engineering, Design and Product validation test (EVT, DVT, and PVT)
    • Support design validation and manufacturability assessments for fiber and connector solutions
    • Define process qualification, readiness criteria, and acceptance standards
    • Own process transfer packages to contract manufacturers and support volume ramp, yield learning, and stabilization
  4. Fiber Supply, Traceability & Risk Management
    • Interface with the Fiber team on fiber supply planning, vendor qualification, traceability, and security
    • Identify and mitigate fiber supply, quality, and handling risks across the manufacturing network
    • Ensure end‑to‑end traceability and compliance with fiber security requirements

Requirements

  • B.S., M.S. in Engineering or relevant field (preferred: Mechanical Engineering, Systems, Industrial, Mechatronic, Electronic or similar)
  • 10+ years of experience in mfg equipment design and/or process improvement
  • Hands-on experience with test and measurement technologies and automation processes
  • Demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems by developing creative solutions with an understanding of the underlying principles
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work in teams and lead employees
  • Innovative mindset and problem‑solving attitude
  • Self‑motivated to deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Communicates effectively (verbal and written)
  • Organized with good planning and time management skills
  • Works effectively with global teams
  • Positive attitude, flexible, proactive, and committed work ethics

Desired Education And Skills

  • Knowledge of opto‑mechanical technologies and manufacturing
  • Experience with fiber optics
  • Experience with high volume production
  • Track record of engagement with external vendors for equipment design
  • Experience in business strategy creation and execution
