Job Description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a Product Owner for a full-time contract role within a Cloud-Native environment.

This position offers a daily rate and focuses on delivering high-value increments for developer platforms and CI/CD toolchains. English is the only language requirement for this role, which is primarily remote with only occasional onsite visits to Germany.

Responsibilities

• Strategy & Roadmap Execution: Translate product strategy into clearly prioritised epics and user stories, breaking down high-level goals into actionable, incremental deliverables.
• Backlog Ownership: Own and continuously refine the product backlog to maximise value. This includes leading refinement sessions, ensuring stories are ready for sprint planning, and keeping the Jira backlog clean and transparent.
• Stakeholder Consultation: Consult with engineering teams and product management to define scope, clarify requirements, and make informed prioritisation decisions based on customer value and technical feasibility.
• Requirement Definition: Define clear user stories and acceptance criteria to enable development. Manage trade-offs and scope decisions throughout the development lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance: Accept or reject completed work based on defined criteria, continuously adjusting priorities based on feedback and technical learnings.

Requirements

• Senior-Level Expertise: Proven track record as a Product Owner bringing cloud-native toolchains to market in private or public cloud environments.
• Technical Background: Hands-on experience working with engineering teams on developer platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and release automation.
• Agile Proficiency: Extensive experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum), including practical experience in sprint and quarterly planning.
• Stakeholder Management: Experience in large, complex organisational environments, with the ability to communicate technical information to various audiences.
• Tooling & Documentation: Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for effective backlog management and cross-team alignment.
• Cloud Infrastructure: A broad understanding of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), specifically regarding Kubernetes, IAM, RBAC, and monitoring.
• Quality & Support: Preferred experience working with QA/test automation or Service Desk tooling in a product delivery context.
• Eligibility: Residency in the EU, EEC, UK, or Switzerland.
