Product Pricing Lead – B2B SaaS

This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a pricing function from scratch within a fast-growing technology platform business. Your mandate is to establish pricing as a strategic capability that enables scalable, profitable growth and executive-level commercial steering.

Key Responsibilities

Build the Pricing Function

  • Design and implement the organisation’s first structured pricing capability
  • Develop pricing methodologies, models, and governance frameworks
  • Define global pricing standards, processes, and decision logic
  • Establish discount governance and approval workflows
  • Build required data infrastructure and analytics foundations

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner closely with executive leadership, Controlling, and Finance
  • Act as strategic advisor to Sales on deal pricing and negotiation guardrails
  • Collaborate with Product teams on monetisation strategy and value positioning
  • Present pricing insights and recommendations at executive level

Governance & Steering

  • Establish and run a Pricing Committee as final approval authority
  • Validate pricing calculations and business cases
  • Introduce scalable frameworks across business units
  • Support transfer pricing logic where relevant

Analytics & Optimisation

  • Build dashboards tracking price realization, margins, and elasticity
  • Conduct competitive pricing and market analysis
  • Identify profitability levers and optimisation opportunities
  • Implement modern analytics, automation, and AI-driven pricing tools

Team Leadership

  • Potentially build and lead a small pricing team (1-2 FTE initially)
  • Provide functional leadership across Sales, Finance, and Product stakeholders
  • Establish best practices and repeatable processes

Ideal Profile

Must Have

  • Experience in pricing, monetisation, or commercial strategy within tech or SaaS environments
  • Track record of building or transforming pricing structures
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
  • Strategic mindset combined with execution strength

Preferred

  • Experience in hybrid software + services or platform business models
  • Background in value-based or usage-based pricing
  • Experience in scaling organisations or transformation environments
  • Leadership or team-build experience

This role sits at executive level (comparable to Managing Director level in corporate subsidiaries). You will act as the organisation’s pricing authority and strategic partner to leadership.
