Product Strategist

Your team is part of the Product Solutions & Marketing (PSM) function which is dedicated to ensuring our product offering and market positioning best reflect the needs of our clients. This function serves as the nexus between Investments and Distribution to drive the success of the overall business. PSM is home to expertise spanning Products, Product Specialists, Marketing and Digital Business. It serves as a strategic center of excellence within the firm for all product and solution dimensions.

You will join as an AVP or VP (experience dependent) Product Strategist within the PSM Strategy team reporting directly to the Head of PSM Strategy. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic agenda for PSM, which will impact the overall strategic direction of Allianz Global Investors.

You will have a consultative mindset with a love for digging deep into market research and then using that intelligence to form a persuasive strategic narrative. You are innately curious and want to understand the why behind the data. The successful candidate will lead cross‑functional strategic projects, manage effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, design and execute innovative initiatives, and partner with senior leadership to ensure our product offering is competitively positioned and forward‑looking.

The role is based in our London or Frankfurt office.

What You Do

• Execute strategic priorities for PSM in alignment with broader corporate strategy and firm‑wide objectives
• Design frameworks and deliver deep industry research on competitive market dynamics and industry developments (e.g., innovation trends or regulatory change)
• Craft persuasive, fact‑based narratives and actionable strategic recommendations in partnership with the Head of PSM Strategy
• Establish strong relationships and manage senior stakeholders within PSM as well as cross‑functionally with partners in Investments and Distribution
• Drive initiatives within product innovation, including design and implementation of new product concepts and solutions
• Serve as a key advisor to senior management, preparing decision papers for the Chief Product Officer and Executive Committee
• Represent PSM in firm‑wide forums with the possibility for external exposure through participation in industry panels and roundtables

What You Bring

• Advanced degree or additional certifications (MBA equivalent or CFA preferred, not required)
• 3‑7+ years of experience in a similar role or with transferable skills from strategy consulting, asset management, or financial services
• Understanding of the asset management industry, end‑to‑end value chain, competitive market dynamics and regulatory landscape
• High strategic agility and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, a plus
• Ability to use Microsoft Copilot, with a strong commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills
• German language fluency, a plus.
