Main Functions
- Execution, evaluation, and documentation of microbiological, molecular biological, and physical-chemical analyses (e.g. microscopy, cultivation techniques, isolation of biological agents, PCR technologies, flow cytometry, particle compositions, rheology)
- Support of pilot scale trials and production processes, e.g. fermenter inoculation, downstream processing, formulation, and packaging of biological active ingredients
- Independent planning and execution of laboratory tasks, including discussion of results within the team and, where applicable, in cross functional teams
Technology Transfer and Cross-functional collaboration
- Close collaboration with the Quality Control department to support production processes and to transfer/align analytical methods
- Contribution to the implementation of new methods and technologies to improve production processes
- Preparation and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for methods and workflows in German and English
Laboratory Operations
- Responsibility for assigned laboratory and pilot scale equipment (e.g. microscopes, climate chambers, dryers, dispersers), including functionality checks, commissioning, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and conducting equipment related trainings
Internal and external relations
- Lallemand Wismar production team
- Production Technology and QC laboratory teams of Lallemand Plant Care
Technical skills
Required - Standard microbiological as well as chemical and physical-chemical analytical methods
- Confident user of MS Office and experience with commonly used software for analytical and measurement instruments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German
An asset - Technical understanding is an advantage (e.g. for the maintenance and servicing of laboratory equipment)
- Good English skills are an advantage
