Mycolever WorkFromHome

Stellenbeschreibung:

Overview

At Mycolever, we are building the powerhouse for sustainable fungal biocompounds. We unlock the Fungal Kingdom with our biocompound discovery platform and aim to provide performant ingredients that minimize the environmental footprints of our customers. Let’s create a greener future together.

We are seeking a product & project lead to lead the technical vision, roadmap, and execution of our platform while staying hands-on in architecture, data, and algorithms. This is a rare role combining leadership, product ownership, hands-on engineering, bioinformatics — perfect for an entrepreneurial senior expert who wants to shape the core technology of a fast-growing industrial biotech startup. Take on a hybrid role with product leadership and hands-on development across the discovery platform / team.

Soft skills

We are seeking a candidate who combines business and technical thinking with strong leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the definition of the strategic direction of the discovery platform in alignment with the founders, experts in the team, customer needs, and investor expectations.
  • Own the long-term product vision and translate it into clear short-term and mid-term roadmaps.
  • Introduce, maintain, and continuously improve agile product development practices (Scrum, Kanban, …), including sprint planning, backlog management, and cross-team workflows.
  • Lead and mentor a growing cross-functional team of software engineers, bioinformaticians, and cheminformaticians in agile product management processes.
  • Facilitate product management workshops to align stakeholders, refine product requirements, and prioritize development cycles.
  • Architect and develop core components of the cloud-based discovery platform, including data pipelines, backend services, analytics modules, and scoring engines.
  • Design and guide the development of modules and algorithms for bioinformatics, multiomics data processing, and in silico analytics.
  • Strategically shape and evolve multidimensional scoring systems and analytical modules powering compound ranking and discovery insights.
  • Ensure platform scalability, security, modularity, and reliability through best-in-class engineering practices.
  • Integrate insights from experimental validation into models, workflows, and platform features.
  • Own the two-year grant for the development of the Discovery Platform and coordinate with the team and founders to deliver grant milestones while aligning results with the overall strategic roadmap.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in bio-/chem-informatics, data engineering, software, or product/project management in biotech, life science software, or computational biology environments. Bio-/chem-informatics that moved into software development and product management thereafter preferred.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams enabling strong collaboration between technical and biological domains.
  • Solid understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile/Scrum, backlog management, version control (Git), and CI/CD workflows.
  • Proficiency with cloud technologies like Google, AWS, etc. and related tools.
  • Proficiency with product and project management tools such as Trello/Jira/Confluence, GitHub/GitLab, SW documentation tools, Asana/ClickUp, and other collaboration suites.
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools, multiomics workflows (genomics, metabolomics, proteomics), or scientific data pipelines used in discovery or R&D settings.
  • Ability to translate scientific and product goals into clear technical requirements, roadmaps, timelines, and milestone plans.
  • Experience preparing project documentation, progress reports, and presentations for founders, customers, investors, and external partners.
  • Strong skills in prioritization, resource planning, and risk management within interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of aligning stakeholders, bridging software–biology interfaces, and contributing to both strategic and hands-on work.
