Summary The Project Engineer will develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and support Construction Managers and Project Managers in delivering high-quality projects for our clients. Reporting to the Construction Manager or the Project Manager, the Project Engineer will collaborate with the Field Operations Team at site to ensure the successful execution of projects from initiation to substantial completion. The Project Engineer will lead the interface with Engineering, perform technical documentation reviews, manage RFIs, and ensure accurate construction drawings. They will collaborate with the Site Quality Team on non-conformance reports, manage job book volumes, and ensure all required permits are completed before project commencement. This role is part of the Site Management team and supports the overall planning and monitoring of works at site as well as client interface at site as required.

Responsibilities

  • HSQE: participates in safety meetings, safety walks, quality walks, reviews HSE compliance data, and supports continuous improvement. Ensures documentation is up-to-date in Procore and supports NCRs with the Site Quality Team. Maintains training and certifications for field staff.
  • Client Relationship Management: manages and delivers projects in line with client expectations; coordinates between internal departments and external stakeholders; maintains client relationships as required.
  • Planning: contributes to Project Execution Plan; supports budget and schedule development; coordinates work disciplines and participates in client and internal meetings; maintains POD boards and project trackers.
  • Project Controls: monitors production against schedule and budget; communicates risks and opportunities; liaises with clients, engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors; ensures adherence to contracts and supports reporting.
  • Construction Coordination and Field & Commissioning Support: coordinates with field supervision; conducts site walks; resolves field constructability issues; coordinates trades; manages procurement readiness and validates materials and equipment per specifications; supports functional testing and punch list resolution.
  • Engineering: leads review of technical documentation; manages RFIs, submittals, and transmittals; ensures proper transmission of drawings and updates to current versions; maintains redline and final record drawings.
  • Contract: understands contract obligations; supports change identification and documentation; tracks impacts of changes to requirements, scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk or HSE.
  • General requirements: maintains safe vehicle operation; attends work regularly and punctually; complies with company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years’ experience = 1 year education).
  • 2+ years of field engineering or project management experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • 1+ years of solar, HV, BESS, or Wind EPC experience required.
  • Ability to travel 25–100% domestically (project-specific); valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lead and support site teams in technical, quality, and safety aspects; proficient with necessary systems.
  • Knowledge areas: quality assurance processes, reading prints/drawings, MS Office and proprietary systems, engineering management, mathematics/science, reporting, writing skills.
  • Intermediate skills: Project Scheduling System (P6); MS Office; construction site safety and OSHA requirements; leadership; scope interpretation; fast-paced environments; resource-loaded scheduling; planning and task direction; presentation and communication.
  • Basic skills: project finance; Procore; other listed competencies as appropriate.

Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated base salary range: $87,000 – $108,000. Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and location. This position is bonus eligible.
