Project HSE Lead - Data Centre Berlin €80k-100k + single accommodation, car, flights

**APPLICANTS MUST HAVE DATA CENTRE EXPERIENCE, AN EU PASSPORT, AND B2 GERMAN LANGUAGE SKILLS AS A MINIMUM**

This leading international contractor is looking for an experienced senior Health & Safety professional to take on the role of HSE Lead on a major Data Centre construction project in Berlin.

The successful candidate will -

Lead the identification and management of high-risk activities across all project phases, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure proactive safety planning and coordination. Champion the implementation and continuous improvement of risk control measures, ensuring they are effective, monitored, and embedded in daily operations. Develop and maintain robust reporting and communication structures to provide clear visibility of HSE performance across the project. Evaluate the effectiveness of site-level HSE planning through active engagement with contractors, workers, and supervisors. Be a visible and proactive safety leader onsite — conducting audits, mentoring teams, and driving a culture of safety excellence. Conduct independent audits across all construction activities, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions. Ensure sub-contractors establish and maintain outstanding safety practices and procedures, aligned with project and regulatory standards. Maintain and enhance health and safety management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).

Candidates should have -

Proven experience in a senior HSE role on large-scale construction projects, ideally within data centre, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, or high-voltage infrastructure sectors. Strong track record in contractor management and stakeholder engagement, including design teams and project professionals. Deep understanding of European HSE regulations and standards, with the ability to apply them in complex, fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written — with the ability to influence and lead across diverse teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools. A collaborative mindset and a passion for building strong relationships through openness, purpose, and shared achievement. Legal right to work in Germany. Maximum 4 week notice/mobilisation period.
