Project Planner (Data Centres/Buildings/High-tech/Infrastructure) - Frankfurt/Berlin (Hybrid)

Stellenbeschreibung:

Overview

Are you tired of the standard, old-fashioned way of doing things in the construction industry? Do you gain satisfaction from making things run more efficiently using common sense and technology? Do you care about proper planning and the connection between the schedule and day-to-day delivery? Do you want flexible, hands-on work that improves the industry? If so, this role at Laminar Projects may be for you. We are a high-end project management consultancy and tech developer focused on upgrading how construction projects are delivered. We bring transparency and control to projects through a pragmatic mix of the latest tech, our processes, and practical judgment. Our people are our core strength, and we focus on designing an organisation that supports the flourishing of its team. We are growing quickly with over 220 people and a stable, repeat client base across infrastructure and complex building projects in the UK and internationally. Joining us is more than a job—it’s a transformative educational experience.

The Role

Purpose of the role

You’ll enhance the delivery of the world’s most complex and interesting projects through project planning at the highest standards. You’ll devise strategies and tactics to improve delivery, translate knowledge into a logic-linked plan, analyse it with planning software, and help teams prioritise based on the plan.

Your team

This role is part of our Project Management Consultancy team, focusing on understanding project problems, implementing the best solutions, and developing scalable practices, tools and technology. You’ll be part of our Project Planning Team, led initially by one of our planning discipline directors.

Your top three objectives

  1. To make construction projects deliver to near perfection
  2. To create scalable and repeatable solutions to common problems
  3. To develop yourself and everyone around you

Your top five responsibilities

  1. Own the plan: Own the project plan for one or more projects and ensure that the project is working to it effectively. Ensure delays are mitigated and managed commercially
  2. Own the outcome: You\'re responsible for ensuring the project team’s understanding and focus on the plan – even when faced with resistance
  3. Report and inform: Provide simple, actionable reports to stakeholders at all levels to help them deliver their part more efficiently and effectively
  4. Make scalable solutions: Develop scalable and repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the team for long-term impact
  5. Develop everyone: Maximise the development of your team personally and professionally and educate clients to improve as well

You must have

  1. A construction engineering background: You have at least 2+ years of experience on construction projects, experience in project planning (software and principles), good Excel skills, and a strong interest in data
  2. Communication skills: Proficient in written and verbal English with the charisma to influence construction professionals
  3. Leadership capabilities: You lead yourself proactively and guide others by asking the right questions
  4. Impact: A track record of making projects and organisations better through scalable, repeatable solutions with significant positive impact

What Laminar isn’t looking for

Laminar isn’t the place for you if you’re seeking an easy, chilled-out role, if you prefer to be the smartest person in the room, if you don’t want to receive honest candid feedback, or if you prefer to work alone rather than with a team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of projects would I be working on?

In your first year you’ll work on several of the world’s most complex environments. We’ve delivered over 100 data centres internationally, supported flagship infrastructure programmes like HS2 through integrated planning and digital delivery, contributed to over $30bn in power generation and transmission projects, and helped develop high-containment labs and R&D campuses. Sectors include data centres, infrastructure (defence, rail, highways), high tech (manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors), and complex building projects. These are hands-on, challenging assignments. We capture lessons to help the team grow and deliver value.

Who are our clients?

Major owners/operators and main contractors with project values between £1m and £1bn+ globally.

Where would I be working?

Work arrangements vary: from home, site visits, London offices for workshops, and occasional travel to Europe or the Middle East depending on interests and life fit.

How does what I do connect with the long-term impact on the construction industry?

You’ll document new solutions and evolving ones in our knowledge repository, which we plan to open source. The knowledge you capture will help us build new products and be tested in the field to rapidly iterate and improve them for industry use.
