Quant & Trading Intern – AI Startup (m/f/d)

Calypso Commodities is an AI software company specializing in optimization solutions for global commodity trading. Our clients are major energy companies and global trading houses who do physical trading of LNG and crude oil. They use our software daily to optimize their trading decisions and portfolio management . Our flagship product X-LNG is the leading optimization platform for LNG trading worldwide . Headquartered in Berlin with offices in London and Regensburg.

About the role

Join our team and work at the intersection of quantitative analysis, commodity trading, and AI software development. You will be involved in client projects, trading analysis, and product development and work closely with the CTO on answering technical questions

Responsibilities

• You will code a lot
• Develop quantitative case studies and trading analyses for clients
• Support client interactions and project delivery
• Build and improve features in our optimization software
• Work with real market data and trading scenarios
• Use Python for data science analysis and quantitative modelling
• Help build our trading courses and training materials on LNG deal and portfolio valuations
• Support on general startup topics as they come up

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics , or a quantitative field with strong academic performance
• Strong mathematical foundation and analytical thinking
• Interest in commodity trading, energy markets, or quantitative finance
• Self-motivated with a hands-on mentality
• Currently based in Berlin and studying at a Berlin university
