Stellenbeschreibung:

Grizzly Electronic Systems designs, manufactures, tests and ships high-performance radar and sensor systems for industrial and defense customers. We own the full stack—RF front-ends, embedded compute, and the signal-processing/software pipeline—so our systems can reliably detect, track, and classify objects in demanding applications. We’re a small team with high ownership and a strong preference for clear requirements, disciplined execution, and field-validated performance over shots in the dark. If you want to build and ship high-tech sensing products that will impact the defense landscape, your place is here.

Role Description

  • Design both high-speed digital and high-frequency analog PCBs in Altium Designer
  • Develop RF components (e.g., planar filters, matching networks, antennas) using EM/RF simulation tools, then validate with lab measurements (VNA/SA, etc.)
  • Assemble prototype PCBs in the lab and test/characterize performance
  • Design mechanical parts (enclosures, radomes, adapters, mounts) in 3D CAD for external manufacturing and/or internal 3D printing
  • Support and accompany PCB assembly at our contract manufacturer; ensure builds run smoothly and issues are resolved quickly
  • Translate customer and internal needs into clear hardware requirements, and drive designs from concept through release
  • Participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and document key decisions
  • Support production and field teams with hardware-related troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Act as a technical point of contact for hardware topics—internally and, when needed, with customers

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar (M.Sc. preferred, not required for strong candidates)
  • Strong hands-on experience designing real hardware—especially PCBs (portfolio/projects welcome)
  • Experience with RF/high-frequency design and measurement (e.g., antenna/RF network design; lab work with VNA/SA, fixtures, calibration, etc.)
  • Experience with mixed-signal systems, ideally including FPGAs/SoCs and high-speed digital interfaces alongside RF/analog circuits
  • Radar system experience (industrial/automotive/defense) with proven contribution to hardware design.
  • You can digest technical literature in English and express yourself to customers in English. You can speak basic conversational German (B1) in the workplace
  • You have the right to work in the EU (citizenship or valid work authorization)

Working at Grizzly

  • 30 days per year vacation, flexible working hours
  • Flat management hierarchy and minimal bureaucracy ensures you’ll be focusing on developing tech
  • High ownership, end-to-end impact: design/build/test/ship advanced radar systems as part of our team

Conditions

  • Working model: Hybrid, on average 3 days in Bamberg, 2 remote, flexible
  • Weekly Hours: 38 hours, flexible time
