Orbital Critical Systems (CAF Group) a leading company in safety‑critical software for aerospace, defence and transport , is looking for R&D Systems Engineers to join our on‑site teams in Germany .

Location: Ulm (Germany)

Competitive salary : 50,000 – 65,000 €

What You Will Do

• Participate in international research projects with partners such as FHR, DLR and universities.
• Develop and analyse novel radar concepts for UAVs, helicopters, air‑taxis and defence platforms.
• Create signal processing algorithms and radar system architectures.
• Support RF engineering teams in advanced radar prototyping.
• Contribute to the development of radar prototypes.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams (physics, RF, AI/ML, electromagnetics, algorithms…).
• Present findings in international radar research conferences.

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Mathematics or similar.
• Experience in signal processing, radar systems, RF, electromagnetics or algorithm development.
• Familiarity with tools such as Python, MATLAB, Simulink, C++.
• Strong analytical skills and interest in research activities.
• English C1 – mandatory
• German C1 – mandatory
• Applicants must hold EU citizenship.
