R&D Manager

Our client, an international medical device manufacturer, is seeking an experienced

R&D Manager

to lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team within a regulated product environment.

The role focuses on strong leadership across the R&D function while ensuring effective collaboration with senior management and other departments. Responsibilities include leading and developing a team of engineers, overseeing sustaining engineering and product improvements, improving internal processes and documentation practices, and supporting the company’s product portfolio strategy.

The role reports to Managing Director and manages a small team.

Please note it is a hybrid role - office presence is required to support collaboration and team development.

Requirements: Strong Engineering background and education Proven experience in the development of complex medical device products (software, hardware and electronics) from idea to market Strong people leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing engineering or R&D teams. Background in medical devices and knowledge of the relevant regularises (ISO 14971, ISO 13485, MDR, FDA, etc.) Experience managing hybrid teams effectively. Strong communication skills. Ability to drive cultural and operational improvements across the organisation. Availability to be in the office at least 3 days per week
