Location

Germany, with European Travel.

A fast-growing, acquisitive software group is seeking a seasoned General Manager, MD, CEO, or similar, to lead its portfolio of software businesses across Germany and Switzerland. This is a senior, high-impact leadership position with full P&L accountability, responsible for driving profitable growth and building a scaled, multi‑brand software platform through a combination of organic expansion and M&A.

The Role

  • Lead and grow a portfolio of B2B software businesses in Germany and Switzerland, delivering sustained revenue, profit, and cashflow growth across multiple operating units and product categories.
  • Partner with founders and management teams within acquired businesses, providing strategic guidance, constructive challenge, and a clear framework for performance management and value creation.
  • Define and execute strategies across pricing, packaging, go‑to‑market, product positioning, and customer success, ensuring each business delivers consistent, profitable growth.
  • Own the full P&L for part of the DACH region, embedding a rigorous performance culture and ensuring leadership teams actively manage the levers that drive results.
  • Identify, evaluate, and support the acquisition of high‑quality, niche B2B software companies in Germany and neighbouring markets, overseeing integration and realisation of commercial synergies.
  • Accelerate organic growth through cross‑sell, upsell and portfolio collaboration, connecting shared customer relationships, sales channels, and technology capabilities.
  • Further drive organic growth via product led innovations, pricing and packaging strategies, GTM strategies, the development of operations, etc.
  • Act as a visible leader for the region, aligning strategic direction with group objectives and representing the DACH portfolio to the Board and investors.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven senior leadership background in B2B software, ideally as a CEO, GM, or MD with multi‑business or international experience.
  • Direct oversight of a P&L in the region of €60m+, with a demonstrable track record of scaling revenues and improving EBITDA.
  • Strong commercial operator with hands‑on experience driving operational excellence across pricing, GTM, sales performance, customer success, and product strategy.
  • Recognised people leader: Skilled at hiring, developing and retaining top talent, building strong leadership benches, and anticipating organisational needs.
  • Resilient and pragmatic, able to make tough decisions on people, priorities, and investment focus while maintaining strong, trust‑based relationships with founders and senior management.
  • Highly analytical and business‑minded, equally comfortable in operational detail or engaging with boards, investors, and other executive stakeholders.
  • Native or fluent German speaker with strong English communication skills, and a willingness to travel across the DACH region.
