What you will be doing

1. Strategy, Governance & Performance

  • Be part of setting the global LSH vertical strategy and execution in your region for Air & Ocean, including annual planning for revenue, volume, and gross profit in line with agreed budgets.
  • Drive vertical growth initiatives, including account penetration, capability development, and business improvement programs aligned with customer expectations.
  • Act as the link between strategy and execution, translating strategic objectives into concrete initiatives, projects, and governance structures.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Key Account Management and Business Development resources within the LSH vertical.

2. Business Development & Key Accounts

  • Identify, develop, and manage high-potential and strategic global LSH customers, maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
  • Personally engage and drive in strategic sales opportunities, customer negotiations, and executive-level meetings where required.
  • Provide commercial and analytical input during tender and RFQ/RFP processes, including historic volume, rate, and profitability analysis.
  • Represent the LSH vertical in customer meetings, industry events, and relevant external forums.
  • Act as single point of escalation for key LSH customers, ensuring service quality, customer satisfaction, and rapid issue resolution.

3. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure quality governance and regulatory compliance across the LSH vertical within Air & Ocean within your region.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant LSH industry standards and customer requirements (e.g. GDP, GxP, temperature-controlled logistics, validation, audit readiness).
  • Translate regulatory and customer requirements into standardized operational frameworks, controls, and KPIs across the global network.
  • Work closely with Quality, Operations, Product, and Sales to ensure customer solutions, contracts, and service commitments are fully compliant and risk-assessed.
  • Act as senior escalation point for quality deviations, audits, and compliance-related customer issues, ensuring structured root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance maturity, service quality, and risk management across LSH supply chains.

4. Internal Alignment & Network Engagement

  • Work closely with Global, Regional, and Country Sales leadership to ensure consistent vertical strategy execution across regions.
  • Build strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Operations, Pricing, Tender Management, and other Business Units.
  • Drive internal awareness of LSH capabilities through structured communication, training, and best-practice sharing.
  • Ensure alignment between customer commitments and operational capabilities across the global network.

What skills & experience you will bring to us

  • Proven senior experience in freight forwarding or logistics, with a strong focus on Life Sciences & Healthcare and global customer management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic growth initiatives, manage senior stakeholders, and develop high-performing commercial teams.
  • Strong understanding of value creation in logistics, including cost-to-serve, productivity, total cost of ownership, and inventory considerations.
  • Hands-on experience with tender management, solution design, and complex deal execution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in an international environment.
  • Analytical, structured, and execution-oriented, with the ability to operate independently in a complex matrix organization.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.

  • You will receive a permanent full-time contract with a 40 hour work week
  • You will be provided with a company car (BMW 3 Series or equivalent).
  • You will join us in our Branch in Frankfurt or Amsterdam (other options available)
  • You will travel up to 30% nationally and internationally
