Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Requirements Engineer to take ownership of structured requirements engineering for complex RF (high frequency) systems. You will work closely with interdisciplinary stakeholders across product management, RF hardware, embedded software, and verification and validation. The role focuses on creating clear, testable system and software requirements, ensuring traceability, and enabling high quality verification through robust processes and tooling.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Engineering
- Elicit, analyze, prioritize, and formally specify system and software requirements for RF systems
- Define and maintain both functional and non functional requirements (performance, real time behavior, reliability, interfaces)
- Ensure requirements are unambiguous, consistent, testable, and aligned with product objectives
Methodology and Quality
- Apply established RE best practices (requirement types, quality criteria, review methods, prioritization, acceptance criteria)
- Establish templates, review routines, and metrics to ensure long term requirements quality
Stakeholder Management
- Plan and moderate workshops, reviews, and alignment sessions with cross functional teams
- Clarify responsibilities, resolve conflicts, and manage requirements across multiple stakeholders
Documentation and Modeling
- Create clear specifications including use cases and acceptance criteria
- Optional support through modeling (e.g., SysML) depending on project needs
Tooling and Change Management
- Set up and maintain requirements in a central repository (JAMA)
- Support integration with JIRA and Confluence
- Drive change management, impact analysis, and versioning within the toolchain
Verification and Validation Support
- Derive verification and validation criteria from requirements
- Support traceability from requirements to tests and results
- Execute traceability, consistency, and completeness checks
Required Qualifications
- Completed university degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Physics, Medical Technology)
- Several years of experience as a responsible Requirements Engineer for complex cyber physical systems with high reliability and safety requirements (e.g., RF, automotive, avionics, industrial, MedTech)
- CPRE Foundation certification required, CPRE Advanced or equivalent preferred
- Solid understanding of safety, reliability engineering, and security aspects within requirements engineering
- Practical experience in deriving V and V criteria and collaborating closely with test teams
- Experience with traceability, change and impact analysis, and risk management
- Optional: MBSE or modeling knowledge (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Cameo, SysML)
- Strong moderation and communication skills, structured and hands on working style
- Very good German and English skills
Nice to Have
- Experience establishing RE processes and governance in complex stakeholder environments
- Experience with RF or high frequency systems requirements
- Strong exposure to system architecture interfaces and V and V strategy alignment
