In the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in the group of Applied Media Systems at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (Germany) is a vacancy for a research assistant (f/m/d) to promote their own academic qualifications within the meaning of Section 2 (1) of the German Academic Fixed‑Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz) as soon as possible.

Your tasks

The position includes the following responsibilities:

• Research work in the field of "Machine Learning for Audio Signal Processing"
• Teaching support in the areas of audio and video signal processing and coding

Your profile

For being part of the selection process is needed:

• A completed university degree (Master or Dipl. (Univ.)) in electrical engineering or information technology

Following competences are desirable:

• good knowledge in:
  • Digital Signal Processing
  • Audio Signal Processing
  • Machine Learning
• Programming in Python and in Linux
• Very good communication skills
• commitment
• enthusiasm
  • ability to work independently as well as initiative and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to guide and lead students
  • Proven English proficiency (C1 level) or a degree from an English‑speaking university

In principle, the job is also suitable for part‑time employment. The extent to which a part‑time request can be granted, in particular with regard to the location and scope of part‑time work, will be examined on the basis of the needs of the service.
