The Department of Physics and mar.quest | Marburg Center for Quantum Materials and Sustainable Technologies, research group Quantum Optoelectronics, Prof. Dr. Nadine Leisgang, is currently accepting applications for a Research Assistant (Postdoctoral researcher).

The position is offered for a period of 2 years. The starting date is as soon as possible or by agreement. The position is fulltime with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13).

Tasks

• nanofabrication of electrically-gated van der Waals heterostructures
• design, set‑up, and operation of experimental instrumentation
• optical spectroscopy and transport experiments
• data analysis, modeling and scientific communication
• scientific services in research and teaching
• preparation of publications and contributions to conferences

Profile

• MSc‑degree in physics, as well as Ph.D. in experimental solid‑state physics
• in‑depth knowledge and practical experience in the field of exciton physics in semiconductors or related quantum materials
• proven experience in optical spectroscopy of semiconductors (absorption, photoluminescence, pump‑probe) as well as in magneto‑optical measurement techniques
• practical experience with low‑temperature experiments (cryogenics)
• proven experience in the assembly, development, and operation of complex optical setups
• experience in the analysis and interpretation of complex experimental data in the context of many‑body physics

Disposition to own scientific qualification is expected.
