Research & Teaching Assistant (Econometrics and Data Science) f/m/d | Part-Time (50%)

To strengthen the chair of Data Science (Prof. Jan Prüser) we are looking for a part-time research & teaching assistant (f/m/d) to start on July 1, 2026 for the location Oestrich‑Winkel. The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in macroeconometrics, with a focus on structural VAR models.
• Contribute to research projects and aim to publish in international academic journals.
• Assist in teaching econometrics and data science courses (e.g., tutorials, grading, student support).
• Support the preparation of teaching materials, presentations, and administrative tasks at the chair.
• Pursue a doctoral degree (PhD) within the research area of the chair.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Strong interest in macroeconometrics, particularly structural VAR models.
• Solid programming skills (e.g., R, MATLAB, Julia, Python or similar).
• Excellent analytical skills and a strong motivation to conduct academic research and publish.
• Prior research experience is a plus.
