We are looking for a strategic, result-focused, entrepreneurial Sales Manager who will lead and realise our growth ambition in the German-speaking market of Power Grids and support the Energy Transition.
The Power Grids Service Area within Energy Systems Northern Europe supports a wide range of customer segments, including Electricity Transmission & Distribution utilities, industrial asset owners, data centres, OEMs, renewable energy developers, investors, and regulators. As a key partner in the energy transition, we assist with advisory services in expanding, reinforcing and optimizing the utilization of grids while leveraging digital transformation. Our extensive service portfolio covers the entire value chain of onshore and offshore electricity grids, from power system planning and transmission & distribution technology to asset management and digital system operations. Within Power Grids Northern Europe, we serve customers from Austria to Norway and from The Netherlands to Poland, with our strongest market position in Germany and The Netherlands.
In our organisation, the business development activities are concentrated in the Sales Management department, whereas management and delivery of our projects are organised in functional departments with teams based in Germany, The Netherlands, and Sweden.
The Sales Management department consists of 15 Sales Managers that act as thought leaders in the market and set the strategic direction for the Power Grids Service Area. They monitor market developments, analyse new business opportunities, increase our market visibility, drive lead generation, lead project bids, and sponsor projects (Quality Control). They cover the entire service portfolio of Power Grids and each Sales Manager has a focus area(s), for example Transmission and Distribution Technology for Grid Expansion, a key priority to realise the Energy Transition with our clients.
As a Sales Manager, you will define and operationalize our Power Grids strategy and realise our market ambitions. You will work closely with other Sales Managers and with the Key Account Management organization to monitor and anticipate market developments, enable a coordinated market approach, maintain customer focus and coordinate commercial opportunities. You will set the strategic direction for Power Grids services in your focus area in close alignment with the operational delivery teams you are connected to, ensuring our service remains future-fit. You will focus on Transmission and Distribution Technology for Grid Expansion and work closely with consultants and engineering specialists of the Power Equipment, Overhead Lines, Cable and Power System Planning teams.
Aiming to grow Order Intake efficiently, you will increase visibility in the market and internally, extend our C-level relations in the Transmission and Distribution Technology area in the German-speaking markets (Germany, Switzerland and Austria, with a strong focus on Germany). You are the go-to person for your area externally and internally, acting as a thought leader. You will deliver keynote speeches at conferences, write articles, and be highly visible on relevant social media.
You generate leads and act as the opportunity owner (leading the bid/no bid decision, opportunity development and closing of the deals) for medium to large opportunities. You will act as a Project Sponsor for the projects where you were the opportunity owner. You will support your operational delivery teams with setting priorities during periods of scarce resources, maintain an overview of the complete sales-pipe development and define actions, including contributing to the development of the Annual Operating Plan. You will also contribute as a subject matter expert in projects and, in doing so, coach consultants and engineers within the teams.
Preferred location is Dresden, Germany. Other locations in Germany such as Hamburg and Bonn are negotiable.
