Sales – Trade & Working Capital Transaction Banking

Job Summary

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is looking for an Associate based in Frankfurt, Germany. The role involves supporting the Trade & Working Capital Team in originating and structuring trade and working capital solutions for large corporate clients throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Nordic countries. The Associate will have responsibility for a set of dedicated customers in this cluster.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute transactions, including applications for internal approval committees and coordination with stakeholders such as Banking, Private Debt Mobilisation (Syndication), Operations, Legal, Product, Working Capital Advisory, Compliance, and IT, to provide a best‑in‑class end‑to‑end origination and execution service.
• Support senior team members in identifying opportunities and originating transactions within Trade & Working Capital solutions, prepare and deliver client presentations, and actively support other sales and coverage initiatives.
• Perform financial and strategic business analysis.
• Adhere to internal processes and governance to ensure control and transparency over sales activity.
• Gather market intelligence and advise clients on all matters concerning Trade and Working Capital solutions.
• Assist in managing the existing portfolio business and enhancing profitability and revenues in line with Santander’s requirements.
• Support the team in external advocacy roles to continue building Santander's branding and thought leadership.

Qualifications

Professional Experience

• Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in banking and/or Trade & Working Capital instruments and solutions (required).
• Customer‑facing and/or sales experience is a plus.

Education

• B.A. in Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent university qualifications (required).

Languages

• Fluency in English and German (required).
• Spanish or any Nordic language is a plus.

Hard Skills

• Basic knowledge of trade & working capital products and structures (required).
• Broad understanding of corporate banking (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of legal structures (preferred).
