Project Scope: This project involves the Implementation of a centralized SAP S/4HANA Utilities system with integration to the MaCo Cloud for the market role “Supplier”. The Explore phase will define scope, confirm fit of SAP standard processes vs. required extensions, and ensure market communication and operational readiness requirements are clear for subsequent Realize and Deploy phases.

Tasks: Current‑state process inventory and AS‑IS documentation. What to do: Capture and document end‑to‑end current processes across the Utilities landscape with emphasis on the Supplier market role and MaCo Cloud interactions. Run workshops as needed to validate process flows and owners. Deliverable: A complete AS‑IS document set — one document per process area (expected 6–8 documents) containing process flow diagrams, process owners, key system touchpoints, pain points, and examples of MaCo interaction variants. Fit/Gap analysis of SAP S/4HANA standard processes vs. business requirements What to do: Compare business requirements against SAP S/4HANA Utilities standard functionality, explicitly assessing market communication and MaCo Cloud requirements. Identify where standard functionality fits, partially fits, or gaps exist and propose solution options (configuration, extension, or workaround). Deliverable: A consolidated Fit/Gap matrix (spreadsheet) listing each business requirement, Fit/Partial/Gap classification, recommended solution approach, linkage to RICEFW where applicable, and priority (Must/Should/Could). Validation of standard process fit and recommendation on customizations What to do: Consolidate results from workshops and the Fit/Gap analysis to confirm which SAP standard processes will be used, which require configuration only, and which need custom development. Provide clear recommendations aimed at minimizing customizations. Deliverable: A Validation and Recommendations report summarizing workshop outcomes, confirmed standard process usage, prioritized RICEFW items (with rationale), estimated effort category (Low/Med/High) per customization, and recommended next steps for Realize.
