SAS System Architect (m/w/d) Join the Bertrandt Group as a SAS System Architect to design and develop secure, scalable solutions for Substation Automation Systems (SAS) that meet customer requirements and comply with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Design and develop standard SAS solutions, ensuring security and scalability.

Create project‑specific architectures in close collaboration with bid management and sales teams.

Prepare detailed technical descriptions and compile the Bill of Materials (BoM) for SAS solutions.

Manage stakeholders and provide technical support to sales, bid management, and engineering teams.

Conduct training sessions for internal departments such as sales, bid management, and project execution.

Translate functional requirements into Epics, Features, and high‑level acceptance criteria for agile implementation.

Qualifications

Successfully completed a university degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

At least 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect, System Architect, Project Manager, or similar role in the substation business.

Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and codes.

In‑depth understanding of substation system design, from secondary equipment to SCADA and HMI.

Expertise in substation secondary equipment technologies (e.g., protection relays, power metering).

Familiarity with leading market products and solutions (e.g., Siemens SIPROTEC, ABB, Schneider).

Experience in project execution or project management of substation solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers at eye level.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a structured and collaborative approach.

Fluent in English; German is desirable.
