Program Description Airbus Defence & Space is developing a new satellite‑based communication system consisting of a constellation of satellites that provide connectivity via satellite RF and optical links. The system enables seamless communication for customers through satellite and ground assets.

Job Description As a Ground Segment & AI Software Engineer you will design, develop, integrate and validate software solutions that use AI technologies to support Mission and Payload Management. The software will be developed internally and through subcontractors as part of a set of SW modules for simulation, commanding and monitoring of the payload.

Responsibilities

Analyse customer requirements and contribute to the definition of internal system, subsystem, and software requirements.

Support the definition of the software architecture, ensuring robustness and compatibility with existing modules and AI engines.

Develop applications that enable smooth mission management using internal or external AI services.

Coordinate subcontractors, focusing on the design phase.

Investigate software nonconformances, discrepancies and waivers.

Analyse validation test data to confirm systems meet required criteria and specifications.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Aerospace or related Engineering.

Experience in software architecture & development, preferably in GEO/LEO mission management (SCC, PCC concepts).

Experience in backend/frontend architecture (UML, Spring Boot, OOP, micro‑services).

Experience integrating or developing AI engines.

Experience with IVV tools (CI/CD, E2E testing).

Knowledge of Agile development (Kanban, SCRUM, SAFe).

Knowledge of MBSE tools (DOORS, EA, CAMEO) and ECSS‑40C process is a plus.

Strong communication in a multinational team; fluent English; German language skills advantageous.
