How You’ll Make An Impact

  • You will be part of the Operation Level Software Team in the Grid Flow Platform development with focus on R&D activities.
  • You design holistic SCADA system architectures for critical infrastructure HVDC and FACTS platforms, including HMI components, communication gateways and monitoring functionalities.
  • You interpret abstract requirements and translate them into system-level requirement and operational concept specifications.
  • Work hand in hand with IT, IT‑Sec, Communication Network and Control architects to incorporate Security by Design for innovative distributed SCADA systems with multiple stations and subunits.
  • Be a crucial stakeholder towards plant data modeling for devices setup and deployment process, signal management in the data driven engineering process framework.
  • Support the full development lifecycle: requirements engineering, concept creation, implementation, testing, and project delivery, acting as a technical interface between R&D projects, customer project execution teams, and development teams.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, ideally with domain knowledge of HVDC and FACTS station types.
  • Proven years of experience in complex SCADA system development, involving but not limited to e.g. Copa Data Zenon, WinCC OA, SCIAM SCC (WinCC Classic), IPCOMM Protocol Converter or comparable.
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols: IEC 61850, IEC 60870‑5‑101/104, OPC UA, DNP3, with data modelling in database structure and solid knowledge of network communication (IPv4, TCP/UDP) protocols.
  • Experience in technical project management and cross‑functional coordination, with an analytical mindset and a proactive, solution‑oriented approach.
  • Ideally familiarity with version control (GIT) and CICD deployment tooling and experience with Linux and Windows OS (CLI and GUI).
  • Fluent in German and English.
