Senior Accountant – Full-Scope Accounting (Berlin)

My client is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their premium, design-focused company in Berlin. This is a hands-on role where you will take full ownership of end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial records, compliant reporting under German GAAP, and efficient month- and year-end closings.

You will play a key role in maintaining the reliability of financial data, supporting informed business decisions, and collaborating with an international finance team. Your Responsibilities

• Take ownership of full-scope accounting for assigned legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with German GAAP and internal standards.
• Prepare and reconcile accounts, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, with a focus on high-quality financial data.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and efficient close cycles.
• Prepare VAT returns and other mandatory reports for German tax authorities.
• Collaborate closely with the Head of Accounting and Bookkeeper, aligning weekly on priorities and continuously improving accounting processes.

Desired Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, including at least 2 years in full-scope accounting.
• IHK Bilanzbuchhalter certification or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience with account reconciliations, VAT reporting, and month-end closings.
• Structured, fast-thinking mindset with the ability to work autonomously and prioritize effectively.
• Clear and direct communication skills, paired with a target-driven and results-oriented attitude.
