Senior Application Engineer -Energy Storage

We’re working with a company at the forefront of next-generation energy storage and grid integration solutions. You’ll design and deliver the technical foundations that enable safe, efficient, and compliant battery storage systems - from system architecture and grid connection concepts to protection design, certification, and commissioning.

Depending on your experience, you’ll either focus on hands-on technical engineering or take a leadership role shaping technical strategy, defining standards, and guiding cross-functional project teams.

Your Responsibilities

• Technical design and evaluation of battery storage systems, including power sizing, capacity, inverters, transformers, protection systems, and grid connection concepts
• Planning grid connections in accordance with VDE-AR-N 4105, 4110, and 4120, as well as local grid operator requirements
• Preparation, review, and approval of line diagrams, protection concepts, and plant certification documentation
• Technical support during commissioning, acceptance testing, and conformity measurements
• Technical consulting for customers during the project planning phase (EPCs, municipal utilities, industrial clients, and project developers)
• Acting as the technical interface between suppliers, certification bodies, and customers

Your Profile

Education & Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, technical training, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Degree from a university of applied sciences or comparable institution preferred

Professional Experience & Knowledge

• Several years of experience in system integration of energy generation and/or battery storage systems
• Sound knowledge of grid connection regulations, especially VDE-AR-N 4105, 4110, and 4120
• Very good understanding of low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems
• Strong technical knowledge of power electronics, particularly inverters, as well as transformers and protection technology
• Experience with energy management systems (EMS) and control systems is a plus
