Senior AQ Engineer - New Product Development (BCS) (m/f/d)

Job Overview

Focuses on facilitating quality deliverable for new program launches, coordinating quality activities, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Job Requirements

  • Drive and facilitate New Product Introduction (NPI) projects according to APQP and LEANPD methodology
  • Act as the quality interface within product development projects, ensuring customer requirements are clearly understood, documented, and translated into robust quality deliverables
  • Ensure completeness and alignment of product and quality documentation, including PRD, key/critical/special characteristics, and project quality plans
  • Actively participate in and support Design Reviews, Quality Reviews, and PAC/Gate Reviews, ensuring compliance with project plans and defined quality criteria
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to lead and support DFMEA and other design and quality risk analyses, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and documented according to plan
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Development Engineering to lead and support PFMEA, Process Flow Charts (PFC), DFM/DFA activities, and process risk assessments
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure alignment of Control Plans with PFMEA, process flows, key characteristics, and customer requirements
  • Support product and process validation activities, including DVP&R, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), capability studies, and equipment/tool release
  • Ensure readiness and completeness of customer release documentation such as PPAP, PSW, FAI, and support and Start of Production (SoP) approvals
  • Lead and support advanced problem‑solving and quality improvement activities within NPI projects using structured methodologies (e.g. 8D, Six Sigma, root cause analysis)

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in engineering and project environments, preferably within product development or NPI
  • Experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing Operations (e.g. Quality Engineer or Quality Supervisor) is a strong advantage
  • Profound knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, Automotive Core Tools APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, PPAP and other risk analysis standards)
  • Strong technical understanding of electronics, physics, mechanics, as well as metal and plastics manufacturing processes
  • Solid understanding of quality management systems and standards such as IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, and ISO 9001
  • Demonstrated analytical and structured problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations
  • Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously in a matrix organization
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional, multicultural teams, customers, and suppliers
  • Fluent proficiency in both German and English (written and spoken) is mandatory
