WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a (Senior) Backend Developer, you work at the core of our product and platform landscape and take end-to-end ownership of critical e-commerce backend systems. You ensure stability, performance, and scalability while continuously evolving a mature technical landscape.

You go beyond implementation: you analyze and understand complex problems, challenge assumptions, and actively drive technical decisions in close collaboration with developers, architects, product, and business stakeholders.

• Own and evolve e-commerce backend systems where performance really matters
• Optimize SQL queries and ensure high performance in data-intensive workloads
• Evolve database structures in a living, business-critical environment
• Collaborate on software architecture, maintainability, and system evolution to reduce technical complexity instead of adding to it
• Modernize legacy structures pragmatically – step by step, without breaking the business
• Use Git (GitLab and/or GitHub) and contribute to modern CI/CD pipelines
• Work closely with product, developers and business stakeholders to identify real problems and create effective solutions

WHAT YOU BRING

• Solid experience in backend development with C# / .NET
• Deep knowledge of SQL performance tuning and data management
• Strong background with relational databases (e.g. MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
• Proactive, structured mindset with strong technical ownership
• A mindset that balances pragmatism and quality in non-greenfield environments
• Experience in e-commerce or marketplace environments is a plus
• Clear communication and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical peers
• Fluent English and German (at least B2 level) spoken and written
