Senior Backend Engineer (freelance)

Rate: Up to €600

Location: Remote (Germany)

We are looking for a Senior Go Engineer to lead the architectural design and build of a brand-new payments platform from the ground up. This is a 0-to-1 project replacing legacy infrastructure with a modern, high-performance ecosystem.

The Stack

• Messaging: Kafka / NATS (High-throughput event streaming)

What we need:

• Engineering Maturity: Proven experience architecting and shipping distributed systems in Go
• FinTech/Regulated Domain: Prior experience in Payments, Trading, or Banking infrastructure is highly preferred
• Deep commitment to TDD, DDD, and automated testing
• Comfortable making high-level architectural decisions and bridging the gap between backend logic and product engagement
