ABOUT THE ROLE

You support Pliant as (Senior) Business Development Manager – Italy (m/f/d) and build up our sales unit there. You convince potential customers that Pliant's digital credit‑card solution is THE payment method of the future, from which our customers can sustainably benefit through time and cost savings. You will work closely with colleagues from Customer Success, Underwriting, and Product Management.

This role would be based in Berlin (hybrid). There will be some travel as required for sales and networking events.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Analyse: Source business and corporate clients in our target verticals and identify customer segments that can benefit from Pliant's credit‑card solution.
  • Select Channels: Creatively choose different channels and strategies for customer outreach.
  • Customer Advocacy: Communicate skilfully with potential customers and build a strong pipeline.
  • Understanding: Know your contacts’ needs and problems, ask the right questions, and listen to them to tailor solutions.
  • Advise: Put yourself in customers' shoes and identify how Pliant can deliver maximum value.
  • Market Growth: Drive expansion across the Italian market, define local strategy, and adapt product for local specifics.
  • Ongoing Support: Support the team with projects and process improvements, as well as with your portfolio of customers.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Numbers driven and self‑motivated to achieve success.
  • Communicative, relationship‑building skills with customers.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, receptive to feedback and eager to develop further.
  • Energetic, independent, and goal‑motivated.
  • Interest in FinTech and digitalisation of the financial industry.
  • Experience in sales within payment solutions, SaaS, marketing, or reselling industries; advantage if selling into the travel or tourism sector, especially in Italy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
  • Excellent Italian and English language skills, both written and spoken.
