Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Data Engineer (all genders) role at Universal Music Deutschland . The position is a permanent full-time role based in Berlin .

Beats & Bytes (B3S) is UMG’s Central European Tech Hub. The Data Engineering team drives the digital transformation, solving real customer problems, and fostering growth through diverse collaboration.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibility is to develop our organization maturity, our department, and the Data Engineering teammates
Build strong relationships with your team, manager, and relevant business stakeholders, primarily within the local marketing department
Design data systems in an international, scalable context
Develop data systems mainly based on Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Composer
Raise the data system operation quality, establish standards, and introduce best practices
Understand needs, priorities, urgencies, and challenges to manage expectations and deliver accordingly
Actively contribute to culture and community by sharing knowledge through training, presentations, or workshops
Maintain exchange with the Data Community of Practice and international IT and Business Analysts

Qualifications

Hold a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a similar field, or obtain the required knowledge through relevant work experience
5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer; proficient in Python and SQL; domain knowledge in Marketing
Profound knowledge in data governance, data warehousing, and data processing
Familiar with tech stack: GCP, BigQuery, Airflow, Kubernetes, Docker
Experience working within a platform team
Strong English communication skills; German is a plus, willingness to learn the language is a must
