Senior Design Technician

Hamburg | Based on-site 4 days per week

As part of our continued growth in Germany, eXcent is seeking an experienced Senior Design Technician to join our Hamburg team. This is a strategic, hands‑on role for a technical expert who can transform complex requirements into high‑quality designs and confidently guide customers through the design process.

You will be a key technical driver in Aerospace and/or Tooling projects, collaborating closely with customers, project teams, and manufacturing to deliver innovative, precision‑engineered solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Analyse customer and internal requirements and define detailed technical specifications
• Collect, interpret, and evaluate all data required to design structures or products
• Identify dimensional, functional, and regulatory constraints
• Develop construction, installation, and manufacturing solutions
• Create high-quality 3D models, drawings, and diagrams using CAD/BIM tools (Catia preferred)
• Propose and implement technical optimisations, ensuring alignment with quality, timelines, and project goals
• Maintain structured organisation, updating, and archiving of all technical drawings and documentation
• Produce complete execution and manufacturing documentation
• Monitor design progress and update technical files as requiredReport project status during the design phase
• Advise and consult with customers directly, presenting and explaining complex designs with confidence

Your Profile

• Technical qualification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or similar
• Proven experience in a senior Design Technician / Design Engineering role
• Strong background in Aerospace and/or Tooling projects
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD systems, ideally Catia
• Confident communicator, experienced in presenting designs to customers
• Highly structured, autonomous, and solution‑oriented mindset
