Senior Device Reliability Testing Engineer – Graphene Photonics

Stellenbeschreibung:

About us

We see the semiconductor industry as a realm of possibility. We see opportunity. We see the profound impact that our graphene solutions will have in transforming the industry. We invite you to join us in driving change with our fundamentally human-centered approach, uniting bright minds around a shared vision. The vision is: Prove to everybody that you can make a fundamental change. Prove with your knowledge and skills how things can be done differently. Together, we can change the paradigm of how the world connects.

About our technology

The semiconductor industry’s growing demand for more powerful chips with higher bandwidth and lower power finds its solution in our technology. We connect chips to high-throughput, low-delay computing networks. The key lies in harnessing the physical properties of graphene to combine electronic computing with photonic communication, allowing countless chips to interact almost as if they were one. Our graphene photonic innovation increases computing power and efficiency to a new order of magnitude.

In short, we connect chips to create powerful and energy-efficient networks, overcoming connectivity limitations in the semiconductor industry. We deliver the graphene solution.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Device Reliability Testing Engineer to drive reliability qualification, failure analysis, and accelerated life testing for our integrated graphene photonics products. In close collaboration with Design Enablement, Process Integration, and Product Quality, you will establish robust test methodologies to validate device performance, packaging integrity, and long‑term stability in accordance with industry standards.

You will play a key role in transitioning our technology from prototype to production‑qualified products, ensuring that graphene photonics meet the performance and robustness requirements of high‑volume deployment.

To join our team, you should be excited to:

  • Design and execute wafer‑level device and packaging reliability test plans for graphene‑based electro‑optic and photonic devices (DC bias, RF endurance, thermal cycling, long‑term stability).
  • Characterize and monitor key performance metrics, including extinction ratio, insertion loss, bandwidth retention, energy efficiency, dark current stability, responsivity degradation, and NEP drift over device lifetime.
  • Lead high‑speed RF and optoelectronic characterization using Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), establish system‑level test configurations, and develop compact model validation procedures.
  • Conduct advanced failure analysis using Raman spectroscopy, AFM, SEM/TEM, and opto‑electrical probing, and investigate graphene‑specific failure modes.
  • Drive structured root‑cause investigations using FMEA/8D methodologies and feed findings back to Design and Process teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (JEDEC, OIF, IEC, IEEE) and generate qualification and reliability documentation.

Your Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Photonics Engineering.
  • Specialized experience spanning research, development, and volume manufacturing in semiconductor device physics, optoelectronics, or reliability engineering.
  • Hands‑on experience in photonic device characterization and reliability testing.
  • Experience with high‑speed RF testing (>40 GHz) and VNA‑based S‑parameter measurements.
  • Proven track record in product qualification according to Telcordia, JEDEC, or equivalent standards; familiarity with automotive standards (AEC, ISO, etc.) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with silicon photonics platforms (Si₃N₄, SOI) strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of reliability methodologies, including ALT/HALT, HTOL, thermal cycling, humidity testing, Arrhenius modeling, Weibull analysis, FMEA, and 8D root‑cause analysis.
  • Experience with advanced test equipment such as VNA (Keysight, R&S) up to 67+ GHz, real‑time and sampling oscilloscopes (50+ GHz), lightwave component analyzers (LCA), BERT systems, optical spectrum analyzers, and probe stations.
