Overview

The (Senior) Digital & Media Manager Germany is responsible for defining and leading all media planning and omni-channel amplification in support of the brand and corporate Communication strategy within the German market. The role ensures the effective deployment of digital and traditional media activities across all relevant touchpoints, in line with global guidelines and local market priorities.

Acting as the market expert, the Senior Digital & Media Manager Germany leads all matters related to GDPR compliance, responsible consumption regulations, and media governance, ensuring full adherence to local laws, industry codes, and internal policies.

This position combines strategic leadership, strong stakeholder and people management capabilities, and hands-on executional excellence. The role drives best-in-class digital and media performance in Germany, while working closely with local teams, global counterparts, and external agency partners to deliver impactful, compliant, and measurable communication initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the media and digital strategy for the German market, acting as the key media and digital advisor and central point of contact for local Brand Teams, Maisons, global media stakeholders, and agency partners, ensuring alignment with Brand DNA, global frameworks, and local business priorities.
  • Conceptualize, plan, execute, and continuously optimize holistic, omni-channel media and influencer campaigns across paid, earned, and owned channels, owning end-to-end performance, ROI, and agency management.
  • Define and drive portfolio-level media and digital planning, including consumer targeting, campaign timing, integrated multi-touchpoint strategies, and leadership of the Search strategy in close collaboration with Global Media and E-Business teams.
  • Co-define and steer digital communication strategies at brand and portfolio level, guiding media and digital budget allocation, resource planning, and campaign prioritization to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Champion a strong performance culture through clear KPI setting, analytics, reporting, and performance storytelling, translating insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Lead digital strategy, e-reputation management, and digital crisis processes, overseeing paid influencer initiatives and ensuring excellence in execution, KPI-driven planning, and brand protection.
  • Act as the local expert and guardian for GDPR, data privacy, responsible consumption regulations, and media compliance, ensuring all internal stakeholders, partners, and agencies adhere to legal, ethical, and company standards.
  • Drive capability building, innovation, and media & digital mindset transformation across the organization by mentoring the Digital Media Manager, delivering structured training programs, sharing digital intelligence, and embedding test-and-learn approaches.
  • Represent Germany in international digital and media forums and serve as the key liaison with Maisons’ Digital & Media Teams and global counterparts.

Profile

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Languages: Local language (German) required, Fluent in English, French is a plus
  • Professional experience & know-how:
  • Strong understanding of online consumer behavior, content consumption patterns, and the evolving media landscape.
  • 6–8 years of professional experience in digital and media roles, gained either within a media/digital agency environment or in a B2C brand organization with a strong digital focus.
  • Proven experience in communication planning and integrated media strategy development, including hands-on agency management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate high-level brand and communication strategies into effective, executable media and digital plans.
  • Solid e-commerce acumen, with an understanding of e-retailer ecosystems, digital activation levers, and the role of media in driving online performance.
  • Strong sensitivity for building, positioning, and nurturing luxury brands, with an appreciation for brand equity, storytelling, and long-term value creation; familiarity with premium brand environments is valued.
