As we expand our operations in Germany, we are excited to grow our Seat Integration Teams, focusing on unique seat certification and integration for all Boeing aircraft models as line fit or retrofit. We are looking for you in Hamburg, Germany as a Senior Electrical Engineer (Seat Integration) (M/F/D).

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements for passenger seats.
  • Define requirements, review and approve qualification data from our suppliers for integration approval of seats into the airframe including the review of 3D installation models and qualification data.
  • Define, draft and review documentation for the design and certification of aircraft seating products, including but not limited to:
    • Wiring diagrams
    • 3D Electrical Installation Models
    • Qualification Test Plans and Reports
    • System Safety Analysis
    • Equipment Qualification
    • EWIS Compliance
  • Collaborate closely with Office of Airworthiness and regulatory authorities to ensure the aircraft cabin is modified in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Collaborate closely with the aircraft Type-Certificate holder to ensure seamless integration of seating products into the aircraft, at or following delivery.
  • Manage supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

What you bring to the table

Basic qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Avionics, Aerospace, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering) or higher degree in engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in Aerospace industry, preferably in a role involving design, integration, and/or certification of interior products on commercial aircraft.

Additionally preferred skills :

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience within a Design or Production Organization, preferably including appointment as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) in an EASA Design Organization or as an engineering Unit Member (e-UM) in an FAA Design Organization with terms of approval relevant to electrical discipline.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated experience with aircraft interior modification programs, especially electrical seat integration, and knowledge of RTCA DO-160, DO-178C, DO-254, and System Safety Assessment.
  • Collaboration: Experience leading complex projects and influencing stakeholders (suppliers, customers, solution providers) and mentoring less experienced staff.
  • Tools: Experience with OEM data systems for specifications and tools such as Catia V5/V6, ENOVIA, IVT, AutoCAD.
  • Personality: Principled, reliable, values safety and quality, inclusive and collaborative, with transparent communication and ownership to drive results.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable with a variable work statement and global stakeholder time zones.
