Senior Expert on Implementation of Carbon Removal Strategy (m/f/d) at Allianz SE

Who will you join?

Global Sustainability drives the integration of sustainability in the Allianz organization and business. You will join as a member of the Sustainability Integration in Business team, which works with and across all Allianz business areas on strategic sustainability priorities. Your role will be a senior expert on implementation of carbon removal strategy.

How can you make an impact?

• Be responsible for the coordination of implementation of carbon removal strategy for residual emissions from Allianz Own Operations. This includes, but not limited to selection of credible carbon removal technologies, working closely with Allianz Investment Management procuring those technologies via investment portfolios, establishing the basis for setting up legal contracts, accounting, charging processes. This applies to various pilots in 2026 and for the full scale implementation to meet 2030 commitment.
• Act as the contact for all internal stakeholders, e.g. Group Legal, Group Tax, Group Procurement, Group Treasury, Group Accounting and Reporting, Allianz Investment Management etc.
• Ensure timely delivery of carbon credits, with high quality and minimizing cost.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 6 years of professional work experience.
• Outstanding track record in carbon removal buyer role, multi‑stakeholder and complex project management is a must.
• Excellent understanding of Group procurement, contracting, accounting, charging processes.
• Excellent ability and experience in managing autonomously multiple projects, timelines and diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent ability to think and act independently, to quickly adapt to new problem settings and situations, with a focus on problem‑solving skills.
• Proactive, flexible and energetic team player with a strong interest in sustainability issues, environmental problems and societal concerns.
• High attention to detail and ability to work on different work‑streams, topics and teams at the same time.
• Ability to perform in a dynamic, changing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong proficiency in process management and GenAI.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• International experience is an asset.
• MBA or Masters Degree.
• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus.
• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution.
