Job Summary

One of our clients is seeking experienced Senior Law Librarians and Research Attorneys to support an AI research initiative focused on evaluating advanced legal reasoning systems. In this role, you will design complex and high-quality legal research questions that reflect real-world research challenges encountered in professional legal environments. This opportunity is well suited for professionals who regularly handle escalated or cross-jurisdictional research inquiries and are skilled at framing nuanced legal research problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft sophisticated legal research questions reflecting complex legal inquiries typically handled within law firms or legal research departments.
• Develop research scenarios requiring multi-jurisdictional analysis and interpretation.
• Design questions involving conflicting authority resolution and deep precedent synthesis.
• Ensure all research questions are grounded in identifiable and authoritative legal sources.
• Maintain clarity, realism, and practical scope in all research materials created.
• Structure research tasks that reflect real-world legal research methodologies and workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a law librarian, research attorney, or senior legal research specialist.
• Extensive experience handling complex or escalated legal research requests.
• Strong understanding of advanced legal research methodologies and legal information systems.
• Exceptional issue-framing abilities and strong legal writing skills.
• Ability to translate complex legal problems into clearly structured research questions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience training legal professionals on legal research techniques.
• Familiarity with technology-assisted legal research tools.
• Prior experience contributing to dataset annotation, benchmarking projects, or research initiatives involving legal technology.

Contract and Payment Terms

• This role is offered as an independent contractor position.
• Work can be completed remotely on your own schedule.
• Project duration may change depending on project needs and performance.
• Payments are issued weekly through Stripe or Wise based on completed services.
