We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer who will design, implement and operate ML solutions on the Databricks Big Data platform, support teams across the organization, and bring a strong software engineering background as well as excellent English skills.

In this role, you will:develop and deploy ML-based services on our Databricks platformprimarily work with technologies such as Python, SQL and Linuxsupport teams from various business units in successfully building and implementing scalable Big Data and Data Science solutionsoptimize processes and standard procedures on the platform – with the goal of increasing quality and reducing costswrite performant, well-structured code – including unit tests and debugging to ensure high software qualitywork closely with experts from other IT and business functions, e.g. in the areas of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure), master data, data engineering and continuous integration/continuous deliveryincorporate new trends and technologies into your project work in order to continuously enhance our solutions
You should have an excellent command of English, both written and spoken, and be able to communicate in German at around A2 level.

SkillsVery good skills in software development with at least one high-level programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Scala or similar)Ideally, experience with Unity Catalogue, Asset Bundles, workspace creation, MLflow, LakebaseGood knowledge of SQL & databases and experience with relational databases (e.g. HANA, MS SQL, MySQL)Advanced knowledge of Linux / operating systems, including configuration, usage and troubleshootingStrong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems independentlyYou enjoy working independently and responsibly within a team structureYou have good communication and presentation skills and are able to convey technical concepts appropriately to different target audiences
ExperienceAt least 2 years of experience in Machine Learning Engineering on DatabricksExperience in building efficient and scalable Big Data and Data Science projectsExperience in the productive operation of ML/Data servicesExperience in process optimization, improving standard processes and best practicesExperience in developing clean, maintainable and efficient code according to best practices, including unit testing and debuggingExperience working in cross-functional teams
LocationYou can choose your primary work location between Berlin, Würzburg or the Heilbronn–Schwäbisch Hall region, combined with approximately 3–4 days of home office per week.If you are an experienced engineer and live outside these regions, you also have the option to work on-site 3–4 consecutive days per month.
