Acquisitions play a central role in enhancing technological capabilities, geographic reach, and portfolio depth.
To further institutionalise its Corporate Development capabilities, the group is seeking a high-calibre M&A Manager to strengthen its team in Southern Germany.
The Role
The M&A Manager will be a key contributor to the execution of the group’s international transaction agenda, partnering closely with executive leadership and business unit management across the full investment lifecycle.
The position combines rigorous transaction execution with strategic portfolio development and offers meaningful exposure to decision-making at the highest level of the organisation. Within a lean and high-performing team, the role provides substantial ownership and direct impact on the group’s long-term value trajectory.
It is particularly suited to professionals with an investment banking M&A background who are seeking to transition into a corporate environment with sustained strategic involvement beyond pure transaction execution.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and drive end-to-end M&A processes across domestic and cross-border transactions, including target screening, valuation, due diligence coordination, structuring, negotiation, and signing/closing
- Develop and maintain advanced financial models, including DCF, LBO, trading and transaction comparables, scenario analyses, and sensitivity frameworks
- Conduct comprehensive strategic, commercial, and financial assessments of potential targets
- Prepare investment memoranda, board materials, and executive-level decision documentation
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across finance, legal, tax, operations, and advisory workstreams to ensure seamless process management
- Support proactive origination initiatives through industry mapping, competitive analysis, and thematic research aligned with long-term strategic priorities
- Evaluate partnerships, carve-outs, bolt-on acquisitions, and broader portfolio optimisation initiatives
- Provide analytical insight into capital allocation decisions, market positioning, and inorganic growth strategy
- Support post-merger integration planning in close collaboration with operational leadership
- Define and monitor synergy cases and value-creation roadmaps
- Act as a central interface between the corporate centre and business units during integration and performance tracking phases
Candidate Profile
- 5–8 years of experience in investment banking M&A, corporate development, or transaction advisory within a reputable platform
- Demonstrated execution track record across mid-to-large cap and cross-border transactions
- Advanced financial modelling skills and strong valuation acumen
- Robust understanding of transaction structuring, negotiation mechanics, and due diligence orchestration
- Ability to operate credibly with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders
- Highly analytical, commercially astute, and structurally rigorous in approach
- Fluent in German and English
- Willingness to operate within a hybrid working model with regular presence in the Stuttgart region
