Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Serve as spokesperson for our Automotive business unit
  • Establish, expand, and maintain a network of relevant journalists from daily, business, and trade media
  • Build and maintain a network of expert spokespeople within the Automotive division, including training and advising these spokespeople
  • Proactively place our Automotive topics and executives in the media, and respond to incoming press inquiries
  • Develop and continuously update messaging documents and Q&A papers for our key Automotive focus topics
  • Write strategic press releases, technical market news, bylined articles, and other journalistic formats
  • Prepare and support press interviews, media roundtables, and press conferences conducted by executives and technical experts from the Automotive division
  • Provide press support for trade fairs, conferences, and company events with an automotive focus
  • Coordinate and support our regional media relations contacts in the sales regions on automotive-related topics
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Automotive Communications to amplify press topics through the company’s digital channels (e.g., social media, website, internal channels, etc.)

Your Profile

As part of our Automotive Communications team within Infineon’s Communications and Public Policy department you will foster a network of tech and business journalists, act as a media spokesperson, write technical product news and business‑related press releases, promote our topics pro‑actively towards the media and advise automotive executives and tech experts when speaking to the media. In addition, you will work closely within our team to extend the topics you work on into our digital channels. As Senior Manager Media Relations, you cooperate across boundaries and appreciate the contributions of other people. Furthermore, you have a good sense for current trends and can deduce potential improvements for your own team. Lastly, you actively look for the ideal solution and engage in professional debates with the relevant people, instead of accepting rash compromises.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Have 5+ years of experience in media relations for the automotive, automotive supply, or semiconductor industry, or as a technical automotive journalist
  • Hold a successfully completed degree in journalism or communications
  • Demonstrate a strong affinity for and understanding of complex technical topics; knowledge of the semiconductor industry is an advantage
  • Have excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
  • Bring outstanding journalistic writing skills (in both German and English)
  • Experience in working with audiovisual and digital formats
  • Have a broad network of contacts in relevant daily, business, and trade media
  • Have several years of experience working with and advising members of top management
  • Learn quickly, have strong analytical skills, and a pronounced habit of critically questioning things
  • Work in a focused manner with high attention to quality and accuracy, and maintain a confident presence even under pressure
